Evelyn knew the importance of family, and she treasured time with her children and grandchildren. She met the love of her life, David, when his sister introduced them. The pair were blessed with 61 years of marriage, and they were practically inseparable. After David retired, he and Evelyn traveled all over, from Hawaii to Europe! They bought a winter home in Florida, where the whole family came together for David’s 80th birthday. When the grandkids were growing up, Evelyn always wanted to help take care of them.
In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading James Patterson mystery novels, and collecting light houses. She played the piano and organ, and she had her children pick up instruments as well. She was the church organist and treasurer, as a way to give back to her community. She was an elementary school teacher until her children were born. Then, she became a substitute teacher so that she had more time at home.
