Obituary of Edward Rettig
John was a fair and patient man with a lot of passion for the things he loved. He was a Veteran in the United States Air Force and was proud of his service to our country. He stayed active, whether with dancing the twist, bowling a perfect 300, or taking the family golfing for Father’s Day. John had quite an appetite to help him keep up with all his activities. He even dipped his prime rib in drawn butter. He loved making cocktails for everyone. He would make sure that drinks were served in the right glasses, and that they were real cold. His favorite was scotch, specifically Johnny Walker Blue.
John had a big heart and cared deeply for his family. He had a sweet sense of humor and would teach the kids silly songs all the time. He also liked to amuse the kids with magic tricks. Whenever he greeted a young child, he’d get down on his knees to give them a hug so that they were on the same level, and he always gave the best hugs! John was great at cards, he enjoyed playing Euchre and Double Pinochle. Every morning he would play crosswords, which was helpful when he played Words with Friends with his loved ones. Everyone hated playing with him because he was so good that he’d never lose!
