Bob was a talkative storyteller who never met a stranger. He was great at debate but was more of a lover than a fighter. Although, there were some things that got under Bob’s skin and pushed him to take a stand. One of these things was foreign cars. Bob was a lifelong Chevy employee and he was loyal to the American made vehicle. He made no bones about telling Sheila how much he hated her foreign car on the way to one of his appointments she had driven him to. NASCAR was off his list as one of his favorite sports to watch after they allowed foreign race cars.
Bob was a salt of the earth type of guy, always spending plenty of time outdoors, especially when he was in Allegany. Bob even helped Sheila’s husband John completely rebuild a cabin there, affectionately named “the house that John & Bob built”!
A couple of his favorite things to do outdoors were hunting and fishing. He was especially proud of his garden, growing both flowers and vegetables. Recently, he had been tending to his grapevines that have taken him years to cultivate.
Bob loved poetry and has an extensive self-written collection. He often wrote love poems for Norma.
