Obituary of Donald J. Bedard
Donald was a small-town guy living in an Illinois town with a population of 600. This was perfect for him because of his love of so-called “me time.” He reveled in his time spent outdoors and earlier in life he hunted deer and fished whenever he could. When his country needed him, Donald proudly served in the US Army. That led to his membership in the American Legion at the Nike Base on Lake View Road.
“Donnie” as his family affectionately called him, had two beautiful children and two wonderful grandkids. Coaching little league for his kids was something that brought him great joy. Always an outdoorsman, he also raised a garden of tomatoes for which he was very proud.
Donald was talented in many areas. Throughout his life he worked for Honeywell, repaired computers and built houses! His crowning achievement was building the house his son lives in.
