Roger Reed

Obituary of Roger Reed

Roger was an active man who worked hard so that he could have time to do the things he loved. He had the good luck to meet the love of his life, Kathy, when he was at the end of his junior year in high school. When they were 19 years old, they were happily engaged. Unfortunately, that was the same year Roger was drafted for the Vietnam War. He worked hard as a combat medic for the US Army. He was almost always in the field because he hated the barracks, and his dedication earned him a Soldiers Medal, among many others.

In his free time, Roger loved nothing more than being outside. He had a permanent camping site in Chautauqua and a summer home in Florida, so he could enjoy the warm weather. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting deer. When it came to music, Roger wanted to dance, especially with Kathy. They’d dance to 50s music, but he really loved country legends like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline the most. In fact, his favorite shows and movies were all about the cowboys, like Gunsmoke and Red River.
