Obituary of Kevin McLaughlin
Kevin was an incredibly talented young man with a passion for fine arts. When his loving mother made Christmas cookies one year, Kevin asked if he could help with the decorating. He created a cookie for each team in the NFL with a perfectly crafted copy of their insignia. The cookies were so beautiful that no one wanted to ruin his art by eating them! He enjoyed browsing small book shops, like Crazy 4 Books in the village of Hamburg, for rare novels to add to his massive collection.
Kevin fell in love with film when he was very young. He would direct movies in his back yard starring some of his close friends. Kevin believed, when he reached the ripe old age of 10 years, he and his family would HAVE to move to Hollywood so he could get started with his career. Whenever he saw his sister getting ready to watch a movie, he’d simply say, “You’re not watching that,” and give her a different movie. She would almost always end up liking his pick much better.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
