Gerry was an adventurous man with love of learning about the world around him. For 39 years, Gerry worked as a teacher at schools such as McKinley High School, where he met Donna, his beloved life partner. He taught machine shop and Special Education shop for hundreds of children in the Buffalo area. He loved to read whenever he could, especially automobile books so that he could learn all about the technical parts of any cars that he bought.
With Donna, Gerry enjoyed traveling around the Caribbean Sea. The pair had many wonderful vacations on cruises and at the Sandals resorts, and they were able to visit Jamaica 6 or 7 times! He also sailed for many years, so he would teach boating courses at the Niagara Power Squadron.
Gerry was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and everything that the country made. His own family crest displays a wolf, so wolves were naturally his favorite animal. He loved Jameson so much that he owned a certificate from the company as an “Official Taster.”
