Obituary of Gregory Halter
Gregory was a special guy with a big heart. He was a true social butterfly, who always made time for the people in his life, no matter what he had going on in his own. Almost all of the phone calls and communications in the family ran through him – he was the one who always had time to pick up the phone and check on everyone, and always knew what was going on in everyone’s lives. He was truly the glue that held his family together.
One of the things he devoted a lot of time to was helping people in need through Alcoholics Anonymous. A long-time member, he volunteered as a sponsor for many people and made himself available for crisis support, always willing to take the time out of his day (or night) to help a stranger in a time of need. Greg made it a cornerstone of his life’s work to help others who needed him.
He had a lot of hobbies, including playing slots at the casino, and was always known to own a Cadillac. He spent long hours at the beach sometimes, just sitting and watching the waves. The thing he spent the most time doing, however, was playing guitar. He had a passion for music that followed him his entire life, and was almost always involved with a band.
