Harold was a kind man who sought to make the best life that he could for himself and the people he loved. As a child, Harold grew up in an orphanage in Oswego, NY, where he was separated from his 11 siblings. He went to vocational school, and later joined the United States Air Force. Later in life, Harold became a minister. He loved the work that he did, and it gave him more chances to watch his wife play the organ during church. This past April, he had the great fortune of finding one of his sisters on Ancestry.com, bringing his life full circle, and giving them both some much needed healing.
Harold had many passions in his life, and he always had something fascinating to talk about. He could talk about anything at all and still make it interesting, even if he didn’t really know any information about the topic. He watched a lot of World War II movies, and he greatly enjoyed the history channel no matter the topic. Harold also loved spending his time outside. He would often golf at the Hamburg Public Course, and he liked to fish for trout in Cattaraugus Creek. But one of his favorite pastimes was tending to his vegetable garden. He had a real green thumb, and he’d give the vegetables to his wife so she could make summer stew.
