Bernadette Mehok

Obituary of Bernadette Mehok

Bernadette was an independent woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer on anything. She was affectionately referred to as “the Most Stubborn Lady on Earth,” proving just how determined she was. She never wanted to stop driving herself around and would take her grandchildren out shopping for Christmas gifts. This worked well, because her favorite holiday to spend with her family was Christmas Eve. Bernadette was an incredibly happy woman, with a sunny disposition, and she never said a mean word about anyone she met. She was a joy to be around, and she was friends with all of her neighbors and coworkers.

Bernadette was faithful in her love for God, and she was very involved in Lakeview and Saint Mary senior groups. She enjoyed making prayer shawls and was always excited for Bingo nights. However, gambling had a special place in her heart above all of her other hobbies. Bernadette was married to the love of her life, John, for almost 50 years. John passed away shortly before their 50th anniversary, before their planned trip to Las Vegas. Instead, Bernadette took her children on the trip, as a testament to the family that she and John raised together. Please take a gold coin to always remember Bernadette’s love and how she made your life so much richer.
