Obituary of Irene Karpinski
Irene’s life was always full of music and she never passed up an opportunity to dance. Whether it was country, rock and roll, or swing music she was just happy to see a live band play. When her kids were young, she would show them how to jitterbug, and they’d spend the afternoon dancing together. Irene also adored Elvis, who was a true dance legend himself.
Irene was a child at heart, and never failed to express her joy. She was a fierce fan of the Buffalo Sabres, especially in the 70s when her buddy Jim Schoenfeld was playing. Whenever she cheered for him, he’d usually score. Irene was often not well in her youth, so as she grew older, her inner child thrived. When she had children of her own, Irene would often play with her kids’ toys more than they would. She was incredibly kind to all the children in her neighborhood and made sure they always had food and a safe place to play.
