Obituary of Angelo DiRosa
Angelo was a well-known and well-loved man, and he had charisma to spare. He enjoyed going to the Amherst Senior Center, because it was where he made a lot of his friends. They were all incredibly close knit. For many at the center, he was either the first one to welcome them, or the first person they heard about. When he wasn’t able to go, 4 or 5 of his friends would call to check up on him.
Two of Angelo’s favorite things were cooking and coming with ingenious ways to save money. When it came to food, he truly understood the importance of fresh ingredients, especially after his work for SM Flickinger as the supervisor of the produce section. However, as a man who grew up during the Great Depression, Angelo also understood the importance of frugality. Savers was one of his favorite stores because he hated the thought of buying new when there was perfectly good used clothing being sold for cheap. Once, he cut a glasses case in half to be his cellphone holder because he didn’t want to buy one.
The most important thing for Angelo was his faith in God. He was deeply religious and would go to mass every Sunday that he was physically able. He even made rosaries himself, which he would give to his friends and family. Please take a rosary to always remember Angelo and how he will never leave your heart and prayers.
