Obituary of Ralph Green
Ralph was a very quiet man who was incredibly humble despite his countless talents. He was incredibly proud of his accomplishments with climbing, especially as a qualified 46-er. There are 46 high peaks in the Adirondack Mountains, and he climbed every single one. Conquering the final peak was a family affair, Ralph climbed alongside his sons. Ralph adored the outdoors, be it fishing with his grandson in 18-mile creek, taking his beloved dog Buddy hunting, or even just hiking around the area.
Despite being best known for his climbing prowess, Ralph had passions that kept him a little closer to home as well. Ralph was an incredibly talented painter, and as a young man he went to the Albright Knox Art School. His neighbors knew him very well as “Mr. Green Jeans” because he could always be seen gardening vegetables in his yard. He always grew too much, so he would share with everyone in the neighborhood. Please take a packet of seeds to plant at home to always remember how Ralph knew how to make love grow in your heart.
