Obituary of Michael J. Bartlett
Mike was a well known and well loved man for the work that he did for the Hamburg community. As the Executive Director of the Hamburg Industrial Development Agency, the Hamburg Village was his legacy. However, Mike’s story did not end at the amazing contributions to the town, and he was known by so many for his kindness and consideration for those around him, as well as a smile that he always wore to face everything. He was an avid reader on historical nonfiction novels and enjoyed golfing for various chamber events.
Mike knew the importance of relaxation. His staples were his flip phone, PBR, his Yorkie pup named Charlie, and ties with the craziest designs he could find. But above all, Mike and his beloved wife, Mary, were parrotheads, fans of the great Jimmy Buffett. They loved traveling to Key West together, where they made their own little Margaritaville together when they were able. Please take a Jimmy Buffett bookmark to take home with you, to always hold Mike’s love of the world, and to remind yourself that whenever you need, you can make your own paradise to escape to when you are surrounded by the people that you love.
