Obituary of Jerry Castiglia

Jerry was a one-of-a-kind man. Born and raised in West New York, he dedicated his time and talents to doing everything he could to support causes in and around Buffalo. He retired from Pratt & Lambert United paint company as CEO in 1996 after many years with the company. He was also very involved in many organizations around town, having served as president of the Nichols School Board and The Buffalo Club, and chairman of the Buffalo Olmstead Parks Conservancy and the Canisius College Board, just to name a few. He was very involved with the Catholic church and served in many capacities both at the Seminary and with Catholic Healthcare groups. His services to his community are too many to list.

Despite having so many volunteer obligations and knowing so many people in his community, Jerry was a humble and kind man. He always took the time to listen and made you feel like you were the only person in the world he wanted to see. He always made time for his wife, Barbara, and their two beloved children. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and Barbara travelled extensively whenever they could. India, Israel, Egypt, China, and Greece are just a few of the places they visited. Jerry enjoyed ski trips. His wife preferred boating, and he happily indulged this hobby for many years.
