Helen was a loving woman who enjoyed creating things. All her favorite hobbies, like knitting, crocheting, and making ceramics, involved building something beautiful. She was also a talented cook and baker, and she was famous for her potato salads and her Polish Cheesecakes. The trick to her cheesecake was that she would put cherries on it if the top of the cake cracked. When it came to music, Helen liked listening to old country, but when it came to dancing, she preferred polkas. She met the love of her life, Al, when they were standing up in a wedding together, and she loved when he would sing old western songs to her, especially if they were by Gene Autry.
Helen was an incredibly strong woman who was absolutely sharp as a tack. You couldn’t pull anything over on her! She was known for a while as “Helen the Riveter” when she worked on airplanes during the war. When it came to taking care of her house with her beloved Al, Helen knew a lot about home repair. The couple would supervise any home projects they had together. Her favorite place to work was her garden, and her superpower was that she could save any plant, no matter how brown or dry it got.
