Patrick was a proud Irish man who was usually informal, low-keyed, and laid back. He was a lifelong Western New Yorker and was proud to have been born and raised in Lackawanna and a graduate of Lackawanna High School. Patrick loved his country and was an Army Veteran having served active duty in Germany. He finished his service career after being injured in the Army National Guard Reserves.
Patrick met his wife, Kathy, at Nietzsche’s Bar where their eyes locked and it was love at first sight. They have been inseparable since that night. They raised a family together having three beautiful daughters who gifted him with three cherished grandsons.
Patrick was a property manager throughout his full-time career and continued seasonal employment after retirement. He was a “Do it yourself” kind of guy. He and Kathy recently flipped a house, completing all the work themselves – demo being Patrick’s favorite part.
If he wasn’t working or with his family, you would normally find Patrick in his Man Cave smoking a stogie and listening to loud music. The bar was always open for anyone who wanted to join in. Some of his favorite music was by Joe Bonamassa, The Who, and Dire Straits. Patrick rode a Harley for many years and was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group. He and Kathy enjoyed many wild and crazy vacations with their biker friends. He also enjoyed golf and hit the links at every opportunity.
In his final days, while facing death, Patrick coined the new Fennie Family Motto – “I can do this”.
Patrick will always be remembered as someone who loved to live life, and always lived it to the fullest.
