Obituary of Edwin Purvis
Edwin was a loving husband to his late wife, Mary Joan, a devoted father to his two children, Lynne and Robert, and a cherished grandfather to his three grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, and Timothy. He was married to Mary Joan for 48 wonderful years, during which they travelled together to Acapulco, Alaska, and many other places. They met at a pool when they were young – Edwin liked her bathing suit, and Mary Joan liked his fast car.
Edwin was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of his favorite places to go was in the Adirondacks, where he hunted mostly for deer. He was a founding member of the Mile High Hunting Club. He loved sport fishing, and did so in the Keys quite frequently. He was on the water as often as he could make it happen. He owned his own business for many years captaining a boat for both tours and fishing trips. His boat was named “Excalibur.” Please take a card of knots to remember Edwin and his zest for life. May his spirit stay with you and always remind you to live life to the fullest.
