Obituary of Mary Perez
Mary was the kind of woman who was somehow always smiling. Perhaps her secret to being happy all the time was by doing the things that made her happy as often as she could. Anytime she could, Mary would be baking pies and cakes, and she always kept sweets around her for herself and her loved ones. Mary also enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables, while her husband, Anthony, would usually garden flowers. One of Mary’s most recognized talents was knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans. In the 80s, Mary rightfully won 1st Place at the Erie County Fair with one of these creations.
Mary was surprisingly very mechanically inclined, though this would come as no surprise to anyone who’s read a very interesting article titled “Mary the Riveter lived WWII homefront adventure”. Mary lived the life that Rosie the Riveter had made famous in the 1940s, buying a $15 toolbox and working at the Curtiss-Wright Air Craft Factories for $35 a week. It was in these factories that she met her beloved husband.
