Obituary of June Sercu
June was the type of woman who could make people feel special, even if it were their first conversation. She was extremely social, and people were naturally drawn to her wonderful personality. June’s focus, however, was always on her family. When her mother, Elsie, became ill, June took care of her mother until Elsie passed. June was also very close with her siblings, her children, and her grandchildren. She became heavily involved with her church, Hamburg Presbyterian, and made sure that her children went to the church every Sunday.
It was believed that June could make something out of nothing when it came to her crafts and food. She loved to cook and bake, and everyone loved Junes food. Two of her most famous dishes were Salmon Patties and Lemon Meringue Pies. She loved to sew, and made a great variety of items for herself and her family, including curtains and Barbie clothes. She lovingly made handmade ornaments all year to give to everyone on Christmas. Please take a sewing label or thread in memory of June’s love, and to always remind yourself of how she could always bring warmth to the bottom of your heart.
