Randall was an independent man with a brilliant sense of humor, he was affectionately referred to as a “smart aleck” by those close to him. Almost two decades ago, Randall broke his hip, which was misdiagnosed as a broken back. This mistake was an odd sort of blessing, because it helped him become friends with Mike from the gas station, as they bonded over their similar injuries. Randall enjoyed visiting Mike as a way to keep himself out of the house.
Though Randall never did much more than run track in high school, he truly enjoyed watching sports. However, he didn’t agree with the coaches of the Buffalo Sabres or the Buffalo Bills, and often criticized their choices when it came to the beloved teams. In his spare time, Randall enjoyed going down to Cattaraugus Creek with his snow sled, and he’d carry out rocks that he found to bring back with him. He ended up building a 140 foot rock garden on pleasant Avenue.
