Karen was a kind woman with a big heart and a thirst for adventure. Having grown up on a 22 acre farm in Ohio, Karen had many hands on experiences with sheep, horses, pigs and chickens, and had fond memories of riding the family tractor with her father. While keeping home in her heart, she was very excited to travel when she grew older. Karen was thrilled to be able to visit far off places like Rome, Jamaica, and Hawaii. She even got the chance to drive from coast to coast in a semi truck with a dear friend, getting to fully enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Wild West.
Karen was a determined woman, and pushed through any hardship so that she could enjoy every day. Karen had Retinitis Pigmentosa, which she described as “seeing the world through paper towel rolls”. She never let this hold her back from her passions, however. She loved crafting, painting, and crocheting. One of her favorite pastimes was flower arranging, and her favorite of all the flowers was daisies. Please take a flower to always remember Karen’s love and appreciation of the world’s beauty.
